California City Youth Football League
Parent/Guardian Rights, Responsibilities & Rules
Rights:
- To have a safe and fun experience for your child.
- To have accurate and comprehensive information on programs.
- To be part of quality programs.
- To know about the complaint procedure.
- To be protected from revenge if a complaint is filed.
Responsibilities:
- To have a part in the supervision of your child.
- To bring forward vivid complaints.
- To be a good spectator and abide by the CCYFL rules.
- To provide physical and emotional nurturing and guidance.
- To understand that all children are gifted, but not in equal ways.
- To support the individual needs and interests of children.
- To provide unconditional love and support, not based on performance.
- To ensure fun, learning and improvement as opposed to just winning.
- To create a safe and fun environment.
Rules:
- I understand that my child’s physical and emotional well-being is more important than any personal desire to win. I will remember that kids play to have fun and that the games are for youth, not adults.
- I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or others. If my child has been under the care of a physician I understand that a medical release must be received before they will be allowed to participate in any games or practices.
- I will address any questions, comments or criticism regarding the CCYFL rules and policies to the head coach. If the coach is unable to answer my concern, I will be referred to a board member.
- I will not criticize my child or others in the presence of the team, or criticize the opposing team, coaches, fan, or game officials by word of mouth or by gesture.
- I understand the 10-play rule which guarantees that all players will be allowed to play a minimum of 10 plays during each game.
- I understand that it is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to provide their child transportation to and from practice and games. If transportation is needed, I will contact the coach to make arrangements.
- I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.
- I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning.
- I will offer praise for competing fairly and trying hard.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my child or others for a mistake or losing.
- I will respect the officials and their authority and the coaches for their decisions. I understand that unsportsmanlike conduct could result in my child’s team receiving a 15-yard penalty or I could be asked to leave the game site.
- I understand that all CCYFL sanctioned games will be held in a Drugs, Tobacco and Alcohol free environment. I will not bring any such products to any game or come to a game while under the influence of any of these products.
- I understand that I must remain behind fan barriers during games. At home field games, I will not stand on the track during the game.

What Does Your Coaching Staff Expect of You
·
To come to and enjoy the games. Cheer to make ALL the players feel important.
·
To have your players arrive at least 10 minutes prior to start or practice and one hour prior to start of Saturday games.
·
To try not to question their leadership and training. All those involved with the game will make mistakes. This includes the coaches.

Do not holler at the players, or the umpires. We are all responsible for setting examples for our children. We must be the role models in society today. If you wish to question our strategies or leadership, please do not do so in front of the players or fans. Contact us either before or after practice/game.
